(Advertisement for Bids)

1.Sealed Bids for the " Emergency Generator ” project will be received by Summit County Children Services, at the office of the IT Director, Information Technology Department, 264 S. Arlington Rd, Akron, Ohio, 44306-1399, until

12:00 p.m. (noon) Local Time December 4, 2009

2.The proposed work consists of providing and installing a new back up diesel generator and miscellaneous electrical equipment to establish an emergency electrical system at the SCCS office building at the address listed above, as shown on the construction drawings and listed in the specifications. The Contractor shall provide all items of new material and all labor to provide for a complete installation.

3.The Contract Documents and Specifications are on file at the office of:

A set of Contract Documents and Specifications may be obtained by sending a $100.00 specification fee to the Consulting Engineers. Bids will be received only from parties that have obtained recorded bid sets of drawings and specifications.

Additional sets of documents may be purchased for $30.00 per set, non-refundable.

All checks shall be made payable to: Pearce Engineering, Limited.

4.All bids shall comply with the instructions listed in the Specifications and shall be delivered in a sealed envelope marked:

5.There will be a Prebid Meeting at the Summit County Children Services offices, 264 S. Arlington Street, Akron, Ohio, at 10:00 a.m. (local time) on November 23, 2009, for interested parties to visit the construction site.

6.Bidders must use the printed forms provided therefore, as none other will be accepted. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties making the same, and all parties interested therein.

7.The bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, redeemable by Summit County Children Services for ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into.

In lieu of a “bid bond,” a certified check, on a solvent bank, in the sum of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid will also be accepted as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into.

8.The successful bidder will be required to post a performance-payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the contract awarded.

9.No bidder may change or withdraw his bid for a period of 90 days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids.

10.Summit County Children Services reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding.
